Revered illustrator Takeshi Obata of supernatural criminal execution franchise Death Note has unveiled that a live action TV drama is currently under production, bound to send fans into a joyous uproar despite the series having concluded years ago.
The news came by way of Takeshi Obata’s latest series Gakkyu Hotei:
Death Note’s positive acclaim has led to the creation of numerous live action films already, so an announcement of a TV drama is hardly all that surprising – though it has yet to be revealed what the drama will be about and whether or not the actors from the live action films will be making their return.
The TV drama is scheduled to air this July.
this is like making an Unlimited Blade Works movie, and then make a full season anime of it later… oh wait
you would think this is silly but its actually all according to keikaku!
Death Note already had 4 live action movies, that were actually decent too.
he’s right though. with all the live action movie coming out, a live action drama without the watcher being spoiled is pretty hard to make.
yay
