WWII mecha-musume megahit Kantai Collection (“Battleship Collection,” or KanKore) is finally getting both an anime and handheld release.
The original game, by Kadokawa Games and available on DMM.com, might otherwise have been dismissed as yet another trashy browser game but for the breakout popularity of its characters and relatively enjoyable gameplay – although the cuteness of Shimakaze probably has as much to do with it.
Already boasting a manga launch and massive reserves of fan-art, KanKore is fast developing an armada of mixed media properties – although it is not hard to find those less than enthused by the prospect of porting yet another social game to the Vita of all platforms, to say nothing of those comparing its anime prospects to those of BRS at best (although Strike Witches and Hetalia provide strong counter-examples)…
No US ships? Like the Iowa or the Enterprise?
Should’ve launched this during the US mecha hype. I mean really, if something like china crap games gets to be big in the US, why not this? It’s not overly sexy, plus the focus to their beauty comes from their ship representation.
YESH, some more stuff to fap to
Do they have a Yukikaze/Fubuki and maybe even an I-400 girl as well?
They have most of the WW2 ships actually!
Those shipgirls look cute.
