Square Enix for its part has declined to comment on the matter, although a variety of evidence suggests it is reasonably credible.
As the game is already the subject of a great deal of PC-based modding and emulation action (shown), a simple port of ancient classic with the addition of trophies and cheats may not be quite the cash-cow Square Enix hopes for – although amongst some fans there is the suspicion that Square Enix is currently in no condition to do a remake justice in any case.
I, for one, am glad they’re finally fixing their mistake of the horrible PC port of the game many, many years ago.
Sure, it’s no remake, but it’s a nice gesture. It’s also cheaper than buying that ridiculously broken copy used online.
Isn’t it obvious based on the last few final fantasy games? Square Enix just hates money. They want to make sure as many potential customers avoid their products before even looking at them as possible. It’s called marketing (Pretentious Ass Style).
well, it WAS already out for the PC
i’d rather have a ffvii-2 anyways
…they don’t give a damn about us PC players on so many levels
