Singer seiyuu Nana Mizuki’s cosplay prowess has been highlighted with her latest appearance in no less than the Gothic & Lolita Bible, where she gamely shows off her “Lolita Sailor” and “Gothic Vampire” outfits – both choices which seem to have simultaneously inflamed both the passion and opprobrium of seiyuu otaku.
Her regal king and queen cosplays have also been seen gracing prominent Tokyo station billboards in recent weeks:
However, the creepy otaku demographic appears to have been out in force to counter this shameful display of a woman over the age of 20 in public:
“Grotesque lolita.”
“Ultra-thick makeup and complete Photoshop. Even then she still looks like an old woman.”
“It’s OK like that, as long as you never have to meet her.”
“Her face just looks that of some old bag.”
“Give it up!”
“She looks like a doll.”
“Cosplaying in your thirties – disgraceful.”
“She’ll still be at it when she’s in her forties.”
“This magazine is for Visual Kei fangirls so it’s hard to see why she’s in there…”
“How old is she anyway?”
“Get out of it you old hag!”
“Marry me, you old hag!”
she looks good in cosplay
those cosplay otakus are either dumb as rocks, still in living in their mom’s basement & still single, smoking drugs , or all of the above!
“Cosplaying in your thirties – disgraceful”
*sniffles*
If any female actor or singer just have to disappear once they reach their 30’s, there would be a huge gap. Anne Hathaway, Kate Beckinsale, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie, Olga Kurylenko and so on, all gone into retirement.
Nana-chan was always a pretty and cute girl, but in recent years she has grown into a beautiful woman, with a grace only a certain age provides. From what i’ve read she is friendly, humble, warm hearted, doesn’t act like a star and values her fans and friends highly, she certainly doesn’t deserve this sort of backlash. They don’t like the shots, fine, but calling her names is declasse.
In this age, even girls in their 20’s are heavily photoshopped in magazines such as Playboy and FHM, to complain about these Lolita shots being photoshopped makes no sense. That sort of stuff happens to anyone anywhere.
Go Nana-chan! The detractors could never destroy you, they only make you stronger.
she’s a cutie, Japan is messed if they honestly think she’s too old :v
they must be smoking crack thats one!
Why insult Mizuki Nana ;(
