2ch’s plagiarism police have been sharing some of their favourite examples of how not to go about blatant manga plagiarism, although at times it seems their zealous pursuit of these goals has got the better of them.
It should of course be noted that spoilers may be present in the various images used:
As usual, the lines between parody, homage, inspiration, copying and outright coincidence are ones many find difficult to discern – although many are so blatant it is only hard to see how they could possibly evade detection.
Some are definite rips.
Some are definitely not.
Some only are if they’re coming close together multiple times from the same artist and the same source.
Some are definitely plagiarization and even obviously tracing, but some others are obviously references (like the old lady posing like the woman in the Pulp Fiction cover [I don’t know her name, I wasn’t even born when Pulp Fiction was released, so sue me]) or even just similar concepts (like the One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and Hunter x Hunter meeting scenes, they’re nothing alike other than being, well, meetings; same with that comparison between D.Gray-man and that Emma manga I never heard about before).
I get plagiarism but the comparison between the warlords from one piece and the picture of naruto aren’t alike except for the panels. I mean if your having a organized meeting of an official group and having them sit around a table isn’t plagiarism of the manga before it its just common setting.
Sooner or later these talentless artists will lose readers anyway.. No need to blatant bout it.
EVEN PULP FICTION ???
