The fourth episode fan-favorite Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai delivered yet more of the goodness appreciated in earlier episodes, including a healthy amount of brother-sister service along with a trip to Comiket, the most holy of otaku events.
For those few dwellers under a rock who might still be unfamiliar with the series, last week’s article went into enough detail on the particulars concerning seiyuu, studio, and such to make for a good reading.
Those already familiar with the fun mix of a Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu and KissxSis style story combined with a bigger budget and more polish should be able to dive right in.
Those particular mini-shorts of Kirino appear to be a favorite of hers, given how often she has them on both in the manga and anime.
The game Kyosuke plays throughout the episode, Siscalypse (a portmanteau of ‘sister’ and ‘apocalypse’) happens to be filled with Magical Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha references, such as Raising Heart’s tagline above, and the Nanoha-esque magical circles for the character’s spellcasting.
The victorious Reika here appears to be a non-specific Touhou reference also.
Saori’s in-game avatar is cute enough, but even here the anime denies a look at the face behind megane, as the manga does as early as its first volume…
The scene below is undoubtedly the highlight of the entire episode:
The odd fluffy appearance of Kirino’s bra underneath Kyosuke’s clutching hand is distinctive…
A necessary accoutrement for any true otaku’s residence – boxes of ero-doujinshi.
The CM during Tokyo MX’s broadcast incidentally had a number of Ore no Imouto ads, including one for the light novels that relayed the importance bits of information above.
In the unlikely event anyone is interested in Kyosuke:
As the last episode’s preview promised, a trip to the glorious Comiket, a must for basically all anime that put forth fellow otaku as main characters:
As we’ve seen here before, itasha are another of Comiket’s usual attractions.
Note the Fate/Stay Night lookalike on the far left.
The crowds at the Comiket are legendary, although this is presumably Day 1, and not the even more ero-oriented Day 3 which is always the worst as far as crowding goes.
Kyosuke is still discovering ero-doujinshi!
Kirino engaging in a much appreciated bout of Kuroneko stripping.
The company booth area above never actually gets this empty, mind you.
This particular screenshot of Reika’s tentacle attack leaves a lasting impression on the mind…
Fully moving into the rotating-ED system, this week’s ED was this beautiful technicolor, if static, sequence with a song named 白いココロ / Shiroi Kokoro (White Heart).
The song is actually sung by Ayase Aragaki (CV: 早見沙織 / Saori Hayami, voice of Higashi no Eden’s Saki and Sekirei’s Musubi), Kirino’s dark-haired friend from earlier in the episode.
The lovingly moe-some illustration by 左 / Hidari used in the ED doubles as this week’s ending art:
I had a big ass BONER seeing this not because of incest but because I want to F up Kirino
What the hell i’ve never seen this episode. o-o/ “sir i do believe that gropping is not considered incest.”
As they say let there be panties :3
“Kate: Starry Night: Unlicensed Blade Works”
Oh, you.
Only thing holding this series together is a female character taking on male otaku characteristics.
