comiket_76_day_3_crowd.jpg

As expected, Comiket 76’s final Day 3 surpassed Day 1’s record-breaking number of attendees, bringing in over 200,000 pilgrims who braved the sweltering summer heat to come to the semiannual otaku Mecca for the event’s most ero-heavy day.

This means the reported figure for total C76 attendance over its three days is a whopping 560,000 (roughly 4.5% of the population of Tokyo, the world’s most populous metropolitan area), beating last year’s summer Comiket 74’s piddling 550,000.

Day 3, the event’s most attended and well-known, is often known as the “H” or “ero” day, being the date when the male-oriented 18+ ero doujinshi products are most concentrated.

Over 11,000 different doujinshi circles were in attendance on Day 3, not counting the many professional illustrators and company booths that normally remain open all three days.

Via Mainichi.

As an example of how much pull the lure of a near endless cornucopia of glorious ero had, here is a comparison image of the lines stretching around one remote corner of the large Big Sight complex:

A less enhanced photograph, this time of the interior:

The Fuyucon, this Winter’s Comiket 77, is scheduled for December 29 – 31 and will likely pull in a slightly smaller number of attendees, but at least will provide some comfort from the legendarily brutal summer heat of the Natsucon.

There is a possibility I might start watching soul eater but I'm not sure with all the negative comments on the web, and I don't want to spoil the series by reading about it.

Does anyone recommend me to watch the series or will it be a waste of time?

Watch it until the anime splits from the manga, which would be somewhere in the late 20s. From there, read the manga.

Obviously photoshopped. I see identical people figures on both photos in exactly same poses.

And I wonder, how many of those 180 000 attendents on the first day reviseted it on the second day? I bet that slightly less than 100%, meaning the third day brought just about 20 000 of new attendants, making the overall number of 560 000 a total lie.

2nd day photo looks wrong : there are people on the small platform above the entrance. I can t see any door to enter that platform by look on day 1 picture so it looks like have been photoshoped because I can t see the point of climbing there.
Another thing is that the train/metro is exactly at the same place, ok that is quite possible.. but the the white car under is also on both photo, that looks more unrealistic.

And the final is that the clouds in the sky are exactly the same so the second one is just some fun photoshoped image :p

The line extended back a few blocks and had to be split up in several directions. Even though the comparison picture is a shop the angle wouldn't have captured the full line of people anyway.

That isn't even mentioning the people lining up at the station for ages just to get there either, especially with the giant Gundam being in the same general direction. XD
