Even die-hard Strike Witches fans seem to be anticipating news on the “freeware level” $80 Strike Witches game more for the opportunity to rage at otaku exploitation than the chance to play a pantsu-laden shooting game, and the latest gameplay video does not disappoint in this regard:
A less than inspiring use of an HD console, although the cunningly exorbitant price probably guarantees profitability thanks to the core of fans who would buy anything containing a saucy Sanya x Eila scene…
It looks good and I love SW, but I’d rather just play Triggerheart after seeing the game play.
Looks GREAT!…

Touhou: Now in horizontal mode.
omg fail. Do they really expect to get $80 per copy of this crap, or is that just to break even with all the illegal copies that will undoubtedly come out?
That boss battle would have been a lot cooler if it was bigger, doubled as a carrier, and had individual gun turrets shooting at you along its surface and belly.
It’s fought in stages.
First, and endurance type phase where it releases tons of enemies and you have to destroy the hanger.
Second, You get up close and personal, zooming across the wings destroying the turrets and that leads into the third phase where you attack critical points on the wing to make it crash.
Of course a gameplay overhaul would have to be made, Ace Combat style, to make this possible. But really I should watch a few episodes of Strike Witches so I know there things are coming from.
