The suspicions that the PS3 port of Bayonetta would be markedly inferior to the Xbox 360 original have been born out, with comparisons of the demos revealing that the graphics on the PS3 are noticeably degraded, with muddy textures, fewer polygons and lower framerates…
The comparisons, with the Xbox 360 on top; you will likely need to view them full size and side by side to see the differences:
The PS3 port has been handled independently by Sega, and it seems Platinum Games is keen not to take credit for the port as Sega is being branded very heavily as the party responsible, a decision Platinum will doubtless be regretting.
Xbox 360 fans are delightedly celebrating the minor differences as a battle won in the lately especially hard fought console wars.
The superior Xbox 360 version is available for pre-order now.
Looks like a lame game on either console.
Man Sega was so good in the Genesis era but now they are just crap. Wont buy another game from Sega until is a good Sonic game hope and pray one day they might make one until then just rent those Sega little s♥♥t of ports.
I just tried the PS3 demo. It does not look bad at all. The crap box version may be better, but the difference is not enough for all this crying
Thats actually the comparison between the Japanese version and American version… Good job.
If one thing about the last few generations has bothered me, it’s the overemphesis of graphics as the ONLY quantifier for what makes which port better. Graphics are indeed a big deal in this day and age, but for me, i’ll always go with whichever console I’m more comfortable playing, or which has more material (as in the case of RE4). I’m more comfortable with the PS controller than I ever was the Xbox, so I’ll generally get the PS version (though, the built in harddrive did have me renting a lot of ports on the original XBox since my memory cards were often full).
Hell, I’ve played the PS3 demo and didn’t notice a damn thing wrong with it until I read the articles afterward. Chances are, you probably won’t notice playing it either. Really, the only graphics problem I have with the PS3 is that we’re three generation in now with HD gaming, and there’s STILL no anti-aliasing.
The point I’m making is f♥♥k THE GRAPHICS and just play the damn game. Who gives a s♥♥t what console it’s on.
I agree, just play the game and shut the f♥♥k up. PS3 no longer has a load time issue since Sega released a patch that cuts load time by 2/3, so no more crying about that either!
