A gang of four caught stealing Kara no Kyoukai posters claim they were intending to sell the posters to the otaku market.
The four thieves, ranging from 20 to 60 and of both sexes, were caught stealing posters featuring Shiki Ryougi and others from Type-Moon’s novel series, Kara no Kyoukai.
The posters, created to promote both the latest Kara no Kyoukai movie adaptation and Tokushima’s Awa Odori festivities, are unavailable for sale and were produced in the relatively limited quantity of 600.
Explaining their theft, they said “It was written in the papers that they would sell dearly so we nabbed them.”
They have been charged with theft.
Surprisingly, Taiga seems to have escaped this fate despite being even more popular…
Don’t know why they don’t sell copies of their promotional materials. Some of the store posters are quite fantastic. You usually can’t find them anywhere either.
Hell, I’d steal them just to KEEP them.
I know.. especially since it’s extremely difficult to procure big enough posters otherwise. If they’re anything like the promotion posters I know than they are like 2m*4m. Also, market price is already hundreds of dollars for posters that ain’t even bigger than one measly meter.
Gorgeous- wonder how the movie posters themselves look like, though.
I’d buy that.
“The four thieves, ranging from 20 to 60..”
60 year old? Stealing anime posters? @_@
Hey at least they tried. Maybe they needed the money! You know, probably the old man ran out of “Depends” and needed the cash.
People don’t magically become law abiding as they age. A lot of criminals simply transform from ‘young criminal’ to ‘old criminal’.
