K-ON! otaku have been busy scrutinising every scene of the anime in case it holds some unnecessary product they can rush out and buy en masse, and one of their discoveries has been a profusion of photographic references used to create the settings in the title.
Their detailed comparison images leave little doubt as to the real world foundations of K-ON!:
First and third compositions pic were convincing.
Second one could mostly be bull though.(set aside one or two)
Where is that located? Can we google streetview it?
i rem watching older animes that have boring backgrounds w/ little detail… using RL as anime inspiration imo makes it more believable.
Do you have a source for those pics. I’d like to head to kyoto and find the same places if possible.
try google maps street view for kyoto. some of them will be easy enough to find if it’s possible.
why can’t American cartoons can’t copy many familiar landmarks like Japan?Does it means they’ll lame-o?
Many do. Any cartoon that has an image of the statue of liberty or something will have used a photo reference.
