VRMMORPG gone VRMMOFPS anime Sword Art Online 2 has broken up the monotony of its tournament arc with even more intense gun-toting action, albeit of a much more perilous nature than ever before – and sure to please Type A viewers most of all due to the series carrying out some actual plot progression.
Omake:
One of the best gifs ever!

It STILL looks like he’s just swinging around a giant violet vibrator–though now it just makes the vibrator look badass.
Finally they’re getting some good episodes in. They wasted like 8 episodes on build-up when its technically the 3rd arch. Hopefully this season lasts at least 25 episodes so they can still get a sizable amount of content in.
GGO reach the second half of the story already, In the Light Novel GGO arc only have two volume, first one end after kirito fight sinon one on one. So my guess is, is a 12 or 13 episode series.
Am I the only one here to think this SAO season is boringly slow and made by people who have no clue as how a gunfight works or even ever played a PvP game ?
Still pretty but void of any substance.
Kawahara Reki has no idea how writing good battles work.
Or good characters for that matter.
He writes one novel every 3 months. Comparing him to any other author would be like comparing a chinese car to a Ferrari.
Not sure if you’re complimenting or degrading him for writing 250 pages every 3 months. It doesn’t seem like anything impressive, but it’s no sloppy job either.
Kawahara is still a Gary Stu writer, he uses very simple concepts of giving his characters “unique skills”(dual wielding for Kirito and flight for Silver Crow, neither of which is nothing impressive in the matter of originality), but while Silver Crow did struggle a fair amount in most of his fights, the sword wielding black-themed characters(Kirito and Black Lotus, further lampshading just how pigeonholed Kawahara’s brain is) almost always dominate their opponents with boring techniques that made the enemy seem incompetent rather than the heroes seem strong. That’s not good battle writing, that’s self-convenient writing.
Actually I liked SAO and enjoyed Accel World.
SAO2 is just lame.
One novel every 3 months ? Try two books a year.
Terry Pratchett:

And that’s just for Discworld.
And another one of my favourite ones:
Neil Gaiman:

Great stories.
Accel World proves otherwise. It’s easily the authors most consistent and decent work.
If only people didn’t use fucking tracer rounds for every shot. Maybe then Gary Stu Kirito could catch a fucking bullet in the teeth.
You probably know this by now but still, the first shot is untraceable unless the attacker’s position is clearly exposed. After the first shot, the rest are tracked by the predicted bullet lines unless you wait in hiding for a certain amount of time. I think it’s like thirty seconds.
So it looks like the GGO stuff is over in less than 3 episodes. The arc transition stuff will probably take an episode or two. Mother’s Rosario here we comeeeeeeeeee
