Sony may well be facing its own Microsoft moment after increasing numbers of reports of the PS4 failing with a “blue light of death” (fast becoming known as the dangerously pronounceable “BLOD”) for unknown reasons…
Almost completely unsubstantiated rumours speak of disgruntled Foxconn employees sabotaging consoles, but all that is definitively known is that the sight of dead PS4s makes for popular viewing on YouTube, and plenty of acerbic reviews on Amazon:
How widespread the problem is, how well the launch consoles hold up over extended usage, and whether this may become as much of an issue as Microsoft’s RRoD debacle are all uncertain, but there has already been plenty of the expected Sony-bashing and crowing about beta-testers who should have known better…
A few days ago: “PS4 Launch Flawless,” now there’s a problem and it’s, “Made in China.”
I wonder how many of those actually just had the wrong resolution and had to reset it to get it to work.
I heard some ppl with this problem just hold down the start button as the same with PS3 so it restart and u can change the resolution and it works.
I’m just waiting for the tempest to die down..
fixes and patches will come to those who wait.
In completely unrelated news, Sony has just purchased K-mart, and has immediately started exercising trademark on the term “Blue Light Special”. The reason is unknown…
Friendly advice: Do not EVER buy anything on Day One. If possible, wait for the next generation. Surely they will have fixed the problem. And if they haven’t in the next one… Well, in the next further one maybe they will for sure…
Why wait for next gen? that will be 7-8 years. I think you mean wait for redesign or Slim version which fixed all the design flaws of the first to be release, which I willing to wait.
