It’s also because of the monopolising beauty standard that (sadly) has been established there: Double eyelids (therefore bigger eyes), “V-Lines” (Sharp jawlines), “small face” etc.

Many young Korean women go under the knive because of that standard and the social norms that seem to go with it; Social integrity (Everyone does it, so why not me, no big deal!), attracting men, being successful in job interviews, higher self-esteem…

Because of that, more and more of them start to look the same, and what I find sad about it is that they are ready to give up their own unique appearance and their true self-acceptance so easily.
