The boy-band which brazenly plagiarised a Vocaloid tune only to be outed by angry fans and a distraught creator has finally admitted its shameful conduct and made amends with its victim.
The songs in question can be inspected here.
The creator victimised by Johnny’s boy-band KAT-TUN, AVTechNO!, writes that a settlement was reached with the plagiarists:
Regarding the “DYE” incident, the producers of “NEVER x OVER” have admitted the influence of “DYE” on their song, and have taken appropriate action to settle the matter.
My sincere apologies for worrying any KAT-TUN fans with my words. KAT-TUN were not at fault – I wish them the best in future.
His vagueness and apologetic tone can probably be taken as an indication that he received cash or royalties in return for keeping his mouth shut so as to allow KAT-TUN to escape with their image and sales intact.
Hey I like KAT-TUN! Those guys can have my babies. XD
The only crime that the Car-toon band committed is trusting the depraved Composer…..They did not intended to copy the song anyway….I love DYE :))
The guy should have dragged them through the mud. Methinks some music industry yakuza went an spent him a friendly visit.
“KAT-TUN were not at fault”
There are some things you just can’t convince people to believe…
This wasn’t so big in the japanese media, people are more focus in Jin leaving the band than in this otaku s♥♥t
No hating on the otakus, please! I, for one, am a fan of Vocaloids as well as Johnny’s Entertainment. I know that they care about this issue because it was something bad committed against something they love. I know I’d be upset if someone copyrighted a song from my favorite Johnny’s group ;A;
The issue of Jin leaving was bigger because it obviously had a big effect on the group. But, I know they’ll be fine going on without him!
