Japanese Talent Companies Establish Anti-Defamation Sub-Committee

Japanese Talent Companies Establish Anti-Defamation Sub-Committee

Earlier this week in Japan, Hololive parent company Cover and Nijisanji parent company Anycolor announced that the two companies, alongside fellow talent agency UUUM, are establishing a sub-committee against slander, supported by the industry.

The initiative is being supported by 12 other companies and associations and, according to Cover, has also received support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Affairs Division and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, showcasing the sincerity of the motives behind the sub-committee (though Anycolor has not had a good track record regarding defamation in recent times).

The sudden announcement is an extension of the companies’ vows to protect their talents with countermeasures against the constant online slander on social media.
