Virtual YouTuber Usada Pekora invited her mother, a.k.a ‘Pekomama,’ to join her as a full-on Hololive VTuber as part of an April Fool’s joke, only to have her mama break the all-time Hololive debuts record.
While Pekomama’s appearance on Pekora Ch. and her joining Hololive was obviously part of an April Fool’s joke, the creators went above and beyond by actually making her own virtual YouTuber model that was revealed in Pekora’s broadcast.
Even though it was just an April Fool’s joke, fans weren’t expecting Pekomama to break any records, as shown here with the top 3 Hololive debuts with the highest number of viewers:
- (New) Pekomama – 181,246 viewers
- Hakui Koyori – 180,499 viewers
- Sakamata Chloe – 176,697 viewers
- Kazama Iroha – 175,823 viewers
