Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, will be revealing a ‘dropped ending’ for the manga series on TV Asahi’s Iwakura and Yoshizumi show on November 21, 2023.
Togashi stated in a message that the dropped ending for Hunter x Hunter would be the one they would go with if he were to pass away before finishing the series and apologized in advance if that ended up being the case.
According to leaks that have yet to be confirmed, Togashi has “three planned ending scenarios, with different levels of satisfaction” depending on the condition of his health. The ending that will be revealed during the TV Asahi program is the fourth ending that ended up being dropped.

When developing a story you should know the beginning and the end. Everything in-between can be filled in as the story goes, but due to the nature of the manga market it seems that a lot of creators don’t have it planned like that.
