Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito was teasing a new project but may have inadvertently leaked staff info after keen-eyed fans noticed the name ‘堀井’ (‘Horii’), as in Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, printed on paper.

He said on the post that they had just finished up a good session, and although it was pretty lengthy, he would share more once the announcement was out.
However, as some folks noticed, upon a closer look at the front page, there’s the kanji for ‘堀井,’ and there aren’t any others in the company who share the surname.
While many speculate that it could be for the highly-anticipated Dragon Quest XII, which hasn’t had any announcements since its reveal, others have pointed out that it could be another Dragon Quest-related project.
Yosuke Saito has worked as a producer for countless Square Enix titles, including the last two main-numbered Dragon Quest titles, Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him involved in the upcoming Dragon Quest XII as its producer.
I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that whatever they eventually release, it won’t be anywhere as good as they say it is.
Square’s Ethics Department will butcher whatever this is.
Dragon Quest has been a lot better than Final Fantasy as a long running Square franchise.
Until SE replaced all woke activists from ESG department with hentai/JAV loving human being, actual real gamer, and cultured otaku, no one can feel an ounces of excitement from this “leak”. LOL
