Atelier Resleriana Relents on Gacha Pricing, But No Refunds

The Atelier Resleriana staff at Koei Tecmo finally relented after a week of constant bad PR over the game’s especially predatory gacha pricing, though people who paid the full price previously still aren’t getting anything in compensation, fanning the flames once more.

Pick-up rates for focus characters are being raised from 0.5% to 1% for ‘Legend Fest,’ and regular gacha is being split into two different types – one exclusive to paid gems and one regular pool. The regular pool is staying at 3,000 gems per 10-pull (6,000 yen per pull), but the paid gem-exclusive pool will be dropped down to 1,500 gems per 10-pull instead.

There’s also now a 10-pull ticket set that can be purchased with free gems – but the caveat is that it doesn’t give any medals to exchange (“spark”) for characters, a move that only barely cuts down on the aggressive spending in the long run as a result. Thanks to this, and Koei Tecmo not providing any compensation for people who rolled the gacha in its previous incarnation, flames have been fanned anew regarding the controversy.

There are some people saying that the development staff worked hard to lower prices, but have they really calculated the pricing? The amount of money needed to spark a character went from 82,200 yen to 78,000 yen. You gotta pay 42,000 yen just to make chances 50%, and you’ll reach spark limit at 64%. You gotta watch out for the fact that you don’t get medals from the gacha tickets.

Atelier lmao… Goodbye.

They did the worst move they could’ve done towards people who already paid… But they definitely did widen the gate so people who balked at 6,000 yen 10-pulls can also safely try the game out. I guess I will too.

Changing this sort of stuff isn’t something you see everyday, so I’ll give them that, but did they have to reduce the amount of medals from paying? They shouldn’t be reducing reasons to pay, instead just make paid gems half price of free gems.

Either way, I hope they can give compensation for people who paid microtransactions before.

Isn’t everyone getting tricked? They aren’t improving this at base in the slightest.

On the surface it looks like it’s improved, but you don’t get medals from gacha tickets. Even with the half-price paid gacha, you only get half the medals as well, so it doesn’t help unlucky people at all.
