While the drawing shows Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri poking fun at Suguru Geto by making the “fox eyes” gesture, however, the animator removed the tweet after receiving numerous replies bemoaning the depiction of it being a “racist gesture” towards Asians.

The Jujutsu Kaisen animator posted another drawing that shows Satoru Gojo apologizing for the racist gesture with a “めんご!” (“men-go” as a playful or sarcastic way of saying “gomen”) which some Twitter users didn’t find amusing, saying, “Why are you apologizing using characters?” and further criticized him for using the characters in such manner.

In the end, the animator apologized, saying, “I am truly sorry about my ignorance. I am remorseful. From now on, I will keep tweets about work to a minimum.”
