An animator for the Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime has come under fire after posting a drawing on Twitter depicting what some consider a racist gesture towards Asians.
The drawing in question:
While the drawing shows Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri poking fun at Suguru Geto by making the “fox eyes” gesture, however, the animator removed the tweet after receiving numerous replies bemoaning the depiction of it being a “racist gesture” towards Asians.
The Jujutsu Kaisen animator posted another drawing that shows Satoru Gojo apologizing for the racist gesture with a “めんご!” (“men-go” as a playful or sarcastic way of saying “gomen”) which some Twitter users didn’t find amusing, saying, “Why are you apologizing using characters?” and further criticized him for using the characters in such manner.
In the end, the animator apologized, saying, “I am truly sorry about my ignorance. I am remorseful. From now on, I will keep tweets about work to a minimum.”
Okay, real quick… but if black americans get to say the N-word, East Asians can make fun of squint eyes.
How the hell are you going to call somebody racist against themselves for referencing a caricature of their own race?
[grammer issues warning]
you forgot that for you they are asia. For them, they are not “Asia” (it’s like how you where in rivality with other clases, same grade, in school, and any crap would trigger you)
There is a lot of tension, including risk of war and more between the 2 places.
Anything can inscrease this tension even more. Meaning producers or whoever the f♥♥k, will try to minimise as much as possible anything that can cause further hate.
imagen that gesture goes and get popular with children, teenagers or whoever.
Than ticktok or similar crap, retards will make videos using said gesture to directly mock chinese. And this might even become a trend.
Chines hate japanese.
this is the ideea. it’s dosen’t matter what is just or not. If you deal with idots, and risk to put the life of others at risk because of idiots who don’t understand boundries, you step back and “apologies” to send a message to fans to not “encourage” this bahaiver.
I mean, can you imagen is someone important from china is offended and than they stop the series as an apoligy?
“Look at how this asian is racist against himself!” Twitter users and retardation go hand in hand.
Now the real question is, was it western or japanese people who took issue with it.
The Japanese are just as woke these days so it doesn’t matter.
How? For the older generation being so “apolitical”, there sure are a lot of citizens who hate illegal immigrants, obnoxious LGBTOMGWTFBBQs, and gaijin being public disgraces who don’t follow social norms.
How? The citizens still openly discriminate against niggers and gaijin who act as public nuisances; they hate the recent LGBTOMGWTFBBQ bill and are pushing back against “all-gender” bathrooms; they hate immigration despite the older population being apolitical. Hell, Johnny Somali’s not going anywhere outside of Japanese jail until his visa expires and even America doesn’t like him.
Not even a question tbh
Asians are very sensitive to the squinty eye gesture.
Poor guy is getting ashkenazi “””western””” jewjutsu’d.
His only mistake was apologizing to these “people”.
Or rather using a SNS in this age and day to begin with, what’s the point when no matter what they share, there will always have people who get triggered by anything they might discover and flame the creator even if this person didn’t even know they had share something that will cause controversy or had any intention to.
He apologized. It is all over for him.
