Oshi no Ko’s anime adaptation starts off with a giant focus on idol Ai Hoshino, with her alluring figure and charisma bringing her up to the top of show biz at the height of her career. We also get to see her love for her twin children, taking form in many different situations over the course of the long 90-minute first episode.

This is old but just for fun:
Magus Bride is boring pedantic art that spends more time trying to look artistic than it does actually drafting a compelling story with relatable characters.
Megumi’s Origin is the definition of mid. Looks pretty, but largely forgettable.
Dr. Stone is also pretty mid. Novel premise that the don’t really deeply take advantage of. The animation is very mediocre – interesting style but stilted and choppy motion.
Comparing any of these to Oshi no Ko is like comparing Basquash to Slam Dunk. One might be novel with it’s premise or have a gimmick character, but the other is clearly just more intelligently crafted.
Also I’m not exactly triggered or anything, I’m just kinda high rn and dropped magus bride like … 30m before reading this post b/c it was boring as hell.
Just look how much happened in the first 1 eps of magus bride compared to the first ep of Oshi no Ko. Magus bride is so slow we might hit the heat death of the universe before those characters reach their emotional climax.
thanks for the info. i’ve seen dr. stone and agree with your assessment. same with magus bride, right down to stopping out of boredom and rolling my eyes at the artsy fartsy bullshit. oshi no ko doesn’t seem like my kind of show, but if you say it’s a slam dunk, i’ll check it out.
