Fake Claims of Body Odor Leads to Sexual Assault on Japanese Woman

An orthodox case of indecent assault occurred in Kanagawa, Japan, where the woman was attacked by a man claiming to be the CEO of the company she worked at and saying that she needed to go to a hospital to get rid of “her body odor.”

The woman was at work when she received a call from the supposed CEO, who claimed there were complaints about “her body odor” and recommended a hospital visit so that she could fix the issue. She mistook him for the actual CEO, and upon arriving at the designated location, she received a second call claiming that she needed to perform sexual acts with the CEO to “confirm the body odor problem.” Amazingly, the woman somehow ended up following through with this, upon which he then assaulted her during the subsequent meeting at a karaoke store.

The suspect was later caught thanks to records that the CEO had not contacted the woman, as well as security camera footage. The suspect claims that he had “no memory of the event.”

As expected, Japanese people were just as puzzled about the incident, commenting on the video that reported this news. Some of the reactions ranged from wondering how anyone could be tricked in this manner into giving out sexual favors, to how this could even happen at all, to how reality can be stranger than fiction, after all.
