A now-former Bandai Namco Entertainment employee was found to have committed fraud, and the company has filed a civil lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court seeking compensation of approximately ¥600 million.
In November 2021, Bandai Namco conducted an internal investigation and found a discrepancy between the number of mobile devices, such as smartphones, registered in the management system within Bandai Namco and the number of mobile devices used. In April 2022, the involvement of a former employee was suspected, and further investigations were carried out.
As a result, it was found that the aforementioned former employee sold over 4,400 mobile devices, from around April 2015 to April 2022, to outside contractors without the company’s permission, which summed up to about ¥600 million yen that was illegally embezzled.
The former employee was dismissed in December 2022, and a number of management workers and supervisors were punished, with representative directors losing out on 30% and directors about 15% of their monthly salary for the next three months as a way to take responsibility for the matter.
They’ve been stealing from their customers for so long, they probably couldnt tell the difference when they stole from their own company
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was some foreign employee doing that.
But thieves and scoundrels are everywhere.
The way they charge a lot for personalized devices, how much would the original version cost without stickers and colored case?

Wait, consequences? Maybe Japan is onto something here…
Blizzard: “Don’t you guys have phones?”
Bandai Namco: “Wait, what happened to all our phones?”
Give this guy a medal!!!
They lost the opportunity of making him the new CEO.
