Japan’s Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Shot: “I Was Discontent With Him”

Japan’s former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has been shot whilst giving a speech, with the suspect allegedly using a homemade shotgun and immediately causing many to theorize the motive behind the attack, as such violence is rare in Japan.

The vicious attack occurred whilst Abe was giving a speech in Nara City, and it was believed he was shot in the chest and neck from behind with a homemade shotgun – 41-year-old male Tetsue Yamagami was believed to be the assailant and has been detained.

Abe was giving a speech as the election for Japan’s House of Councillors was set to take place July 10th, and it is said he entered into a state of cardiopulmonary arrest while being escorted to a hospital.

Law enforcement say Abe was able to respond after being shot before then falling unconscious.

Witnesses in the area mentioned hearing two gunshots 1-2 minutes after Abe’s speech commenced, with the former prime minister then collapsing whilst covered in blood – others also mentioned seeing the suspect wearing some form of headgear before he walked up behind the prime minister.

Ministry of Defense officials learned that Yamagami was a member of the Maritime Self Defense Force for three years around 2005, and Yamagami testified saying he was “discontent with prime minister Shinzo Abe” and “decided to try and kill him”.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno was quoted saying “A barbaric act like this is absolutely unforgivable, no matter what the reasons are, and we condemn it strongly”.

The former prime minister was the longest to serve, holding office from September 2006 to September 2007, and then again from December 2012 to September 2020, only to then step down because of a chronic health problem.

China’s legion of hateful drones were quick to wish death upon the prime minister, perhaps in hopes of boosting their social credit scores.

Such an event will no doubt have Westerners obsessed with wanting stricter gun control thinking up excuses for how a gun crime can be carried out in a country with highly strict firearm laws, all while ignoring a previous stabbing spree described as the worst mass murder in Japan in 70 years.
