Overwatch 2 Alters Immeasurably Offensive Design

Yet more of social media’s best and brightest have found something new to get offended by as a map in Overwatch 2 happened to have benches with partitions on them, which are used to discourage the homeless from sleeping on them, and complaints about this led to the benches being fixed (rather than the already highly criticized game).

A Twitter user brought attention to this “highly offensive” matter:

The developer team, much like Blizzard, seemed intent on upholding “social justice” and immediately sought to rectify this inexcusable mistake, as a subsequent tweet from the Twitter user revealed that the bench’s partitions were removed, and possibly ending homelessness as a result:

Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie, the lead narrative designer for the not well-received Overwatch 2, described the Twitter user’s remarks as “great feedback” and stated “‘how we hope the world will be’ is a big part of our story dev”.

This isn’t the first time Blizzard expunged things from Overwatch at the demand of the socially inadequate, as a “noose” was previously removed from the game, and McCree’s name was changed due to him being named after a developer responsible for questionable things at the company.
