Hokkaido tourist associations carried out an experiment for an upcoming tourist attraction called an “ice carousel”, where ice was cut out of a frozen lake and then made to spin in place, a marvel that will surely attract several people to not only see it but ride it as well.
The tourist associations of Hokkaido’s Minamifuranochou set up a demonstration as part of an experiment for an ice carousal (also called a “merry go round on ice”), which is inspired by a similar creation seen in Finland.
About 30 tourists and local high school kids came to check it out – a video of the frozen spectacle:
Tourists will also be allowed to ride on top of the ice.
It was not mentioned when such an attraction would be ready to visit.
Yeah, the Finns do this all the time and for a long time. They even compete against each other to set world records. Like making them a kilometer across or seeing who can motorize them and get them spinning the fastest. Doing a news article about the Japs suddenly discovering and making them is like a story about arabs suddenly discovering snow cones.
Did you not read the article mentioning that? Guess not.
there it is, the classic “westards did it first!!!!”” nobody cares. nobody asked. nobody even claimed the japs were the first do it. take your meds
these guys have to cut it manually. Meanwhile here in Canada, these form naturally in some places.
what’s keeping the idiots from getting their legs or other limbs stuck in the cracks, because if humanity has taught me anything it’s that “if there’s a gap someone will get stuck in it”
