Coronavirus Infects Square Enix Headquarters

The dreaded Wuhan flu has continued to spread throughout companies as a Square Enix employee was found to be one of its latest victims, forcing other workers to quarantine themselves in their homes.

An employee at Square Enix’s Tokyo headquarters is said to be infected with the virus and is currently receiving medical care at home under a doctor’s guidance. The fact that the unnamed worker is getting such personalized treatment may make some wonder whether it is a high-ranking member of the company.

Those who worked alongside the stricken employee have been instructed to instead work from the safety of their homes; however, they may have been doing so already, as a result of a recent policy to telecommute until the end of the lockdown. There is no word on whether the co-workers will be tested for the virus, although given Japan’s low level of testing, it seems unlikely.

Similarly, an unlucky Capcom employee was found to be afflicted with the C-virus about a week ago.
