Sports anime Hoshiai no Sora has been accused of stealing original dance moves from a choreographer who uploads his performances online, certain to have many curious how the anime’s producers thought they could get away with this without fans noticing.
The entire ending sequence for Hoshiai no Sora, which has all the characters performing some rather out of place dance moves:
Choreographer Melochin, however, was informed that one of his dances looked similar to the ending sequence, leading to him creating a video comparing both and producing some confirming results:
His entire dance set to “ELECT” (a favorite amongst MMD users), which was uploaded back in 2016, way before an anime for Hoshiai no Sora was even announced:
The dancer has mentioned that he is sending inquiries (presumably to the anime’s producers) and requests that fans not jump the gun and get overly aggressive with those in charge.
On top of this, another person that uploads dancing videos online provided a comparison video as well, alleging that the ED might have lifted her choreography as well:

This honestly looks like a coincidental similarity. Many of the moves are completely different.

That being said, I don’t care if they copy it. Seems like a homage more than anything. Maybe the original dancers will get a share of the money (assuming those dancers didn’t copy their moves from somebody else. Which is pretty common.)
I understand that copynigger is cancer but at the very least they should give the dancer’s name on the credits or something. When you write a paper you are always supposed to give credit to sources.

Really dumb because there is only SO MANY dance moves! In other words every dancer has to use the same moves sometime or another.
In the US at the very least, you can’t copyright dance moves as proven by all the fortnite lawsuits. You can, however, copyright dance routines but most likely it’ll be up to a judge/jury to decide when a string of dance moves rises to that level.

Same for copy right really, in this age of information where things can be distributed across the world at the speed of light, 6+ billion people are going to think up the same thing, and via globalization fewer and fewer people will own all those copy rights…making it easier to bribe government.
There’s only so many letters too, but if you copy the same letters in the same order it’s plagiarism, right? There’s a lot more dance moves than letters though, and choreographers get prickly when they think someone’s copied them.
That said… these videos don’t really provide a good case for plagiarism.

The dance has a few different part like the air thrust hands are behind his back in the anime mostly the same but honestly most dancers are copying someone i sure he was not the first to move in that way i guess everyone just wants easy cash someone copy my comment so i can have some of your money k.
