The latest trailer for Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise introduces the protagonist and the heroine, the footage once again looking likely to impress with its assortment of bright and vibrant visual effects.
Bandai Namco introduced the hero and heroine of Tales of Arise by way of a new trailer, splicing scenes from the first trailer with completely new footage.
The male lead has been named “Alphen” (seiyuu: Takuya Sato), a man from Dahna with no memory who wears an iron mask and wields the “Sword of Flame” while fighting for freedom from Rena.
The heroine Shionne (seiyuu: Shino Shimoji) who fights alongside Alphen and has been branded with a curse that causes intense pain to whoever she touches. Shionne’s fighting style seems to revolve around guns rather than melee weapons.

Tales of Arise is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2020.

The amnesiac dude and the girl’s curse combined with the guy’s lack of sensitivity is something I expect from a narmy latino soap opera.
With that rant out of the way, I believe that a competent director and writer can make gold out of most cliched premises. They just have to care.

While the hero’s (and heroine’s) background couldn’t be any boring,
the battle system looks like it will be “full active” this time. No more ‘rail gliding’, eh?

Uh… in every game since Abyss (I think) you could switch to free roam with one setting. Don’t blame the game if you are too dumb.
yep, after a certain level or equiping something specific you can freely run around your enemies, in normal battles that goes unnoticed but in boss battles is a must to surviver their worts artes
