Cuphead Getting Ported to Tesla Cars

During one of his podcast appearances, Elon Musk revealed that retro-style shooting platformer Cuphead will be getting ported to Tesla’s Model 3, Model S and Model X cars, sure to soon be responsible for an increase in car accidents.

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk mentioned the surprising feat during the “Ride the Lightning podcast”, also explaining the automotive giant has been working together with the developers of Cuphead to make it possible:

“We have Unity working,” Musk told McCaffrey, and noted that they also have a “beach buggy driving game, Dune Buggy, or something like that, that’s pretty fun. Then Cuphead, we’ve got working.” He says that the game’s developers have been helping to get it working, and that “it’s a cool game, it’s insanely difficult.”

Musk went on to speak about some of the challenges that they’ve been facing, namely, storage size: “We didn’t anticipate having all these games there, so storage space will be a tricky one,” he says. “So you might have to decide what game you want to play, then it will download. So if you want to play other games, delete that one and download another one.”

The ported run-and-gun title will presumably use the car’s touchscreen and steering wheel’s buttons in tandem with a PlayStation or Xbox controller as hinted by Musk in one of his tweets from May:

Cuphead is already available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
