A woman hass been arrested for pilfering and then hawking the treasured anime DVDs of her unsuspecting boyfriend, somehow narrowly escaping the death penalty in the process.
The 23-year-old unemployed woman’s 49-year-old boyfriend apparently had 8 of his precious anime DVDs stolen (estimated to be worth about ¥90,000) and according to authorities, she “stole the DVDs because she did not have money.”
His goods had apparently been missing for a long time, but due to the fact that his “most valuable DVDs” were lost, he reported the incident to police on the 24th – some of the stolen treasures were unopened copies of “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha” and “Full Metal Alchemist”.
