An English-dubbed version of a recently released Japanese trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has surfaced, giving fans a general idea on how far the dub has progressed – which more negative critics will likely describe as an insignificant amount of progress indeed.
The English dub and its overly corny dialogue:
Many will no doubt be happy to know that Japanese audio will be an option for the title; Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on December 1st.
Were they just reading from the script? There is no tonal change to show some emotion at all. Holy Moly, the director and producer is probably someone who hates anime or just deaf.
Worst character designs I’ve ever seen.
You’ve lived a very sheltered life.
Name some worse ones.
Nah. They’re still the worst.
Take a look at steam marketplace. 97846534654 games with worse characters.
You are not really upset because they are objectively bad. You are upset because they are not what you wanted. Please be real. If everything is the worst, nothing is the worst.
Yes, the first one’s English dub was not very brilliant, either. You get used to it though, since besides the cutscenes, there is not much talking, anyway.
This IS a trailer, though. Voice acting as heard here may not be final. That sometimes happens, and this is hopefully no exception.
They said the game will come with a day1 DLC pack for Japan voice dub, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem to me…
Is the first game worth playing, considering I hate grinding?
No. It’s basically an offline MMO with worse gameplay mechanics.
You are talking about Xenoblade Chronicles X, fool. That is not the first one.
In the first game, grinding is only necessary if you wish to defeat the three ultimate hidden bosses which are RIDICULOUSLY powerful. Other than that, not at all. It is a wonderful game full of exploration and a very strong story. One of my top 5 rpgs this decade. Just do yourself a favor, download Dolphin, an Undub ROM and play on PC.
