Possibly acquiring the top spot due to his questionable moral ethics, the anti-hero of one particularly deadly series has been labeled as the worst potential friend according to voters of this latest ranking, a title that would likely prove meaningless to such a self-centered character…
1. Light Yagami (Death Note)
2. Kankichi Ryotsu (Kochikame)
3. Kenshiro (Hokuto no Ken)
4. Kinnikuman (Kinnikuman)
5. Jaguar Junichi (Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar)
6. Arale Norimaki (Dr. Slump)
7. Rei Ichido (High School! Kimengumi)
8. Masaru Hananakajima (Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san)
9. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
10. Goku (Dragon Ball Z)
I can’t argue he’d easily be the worst to have as a friend, but calling Light an “anti-hero” shows a complete failure to understand what the term means. Light is a villain protagonist. There’s NOTHING “heroic” about him at all (except for that bit where he gave up the Death Note and wiped his own memory, becaming a good guy again until he got the note back).
The problem with this list is that it lumps together the crappy friends (jerks/assholes) and the dangerous friends, which be further divided between the danger-magnet friends (=> you risk becoming collateral damage or target for their enemies) and the idiots who will drag you into their hare-brained schemes.
Of course, there can be some significant overlap:
– the danger-magnet morons (Goku, Luffy) who despite already having dangerous enemies will somehow manage to make the situation worse through their stupidity.
– the danger-magnet jerkasses like Guts (though in his defense, he actively resisted every attempt to befriend him)
– the moronic jerkass; Rei Ichido
I also wonder how little miss Nanoha “I befriend people by blowing the crap out of them” would rank 😛
Geez what about Kacchan from Hero Academia?
So Goku would make a better friend than Luffy? Interesting but its not hard to believe
So… basically assholes and idiots, alright.
