The most riveting anime ending sequences (as opposed to the most delightful OPs) have now been ranked according to voter opinion, naturally leading to some of the most highly revered songs dominating the top of the list.
1. Sugar Song to Bitter Step (Kekkai Sensen)
2. Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari (Bakemonogatari)
3. Namae no nai Kaibutsu (Psycho-Pass)
4. Tutti! (Hibike Euphonium)
5. Refrain Boy (Mob Psycho 100)
6. Trust Me (Durarara!!)
7. Hide and Seek (Handa-kun)
8. Wind (Naruto)
9. Orphans no Namida (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)
10. Futuristic Imagination (Higashi no Eden)
There were really only a few decent ones in there. Mediocre list with a lot of recentism. That’s how it tends to be, though. Any list will generally be heavily biased towards present titles.
IMO an ED OR OP is good when its lyrics go well with themes within the show, and/or the visuals are also related. Of course the song itself has to be good. There aren’t too many of those that hit all three metrics well. For many of them, the visuals might as well not even be there. I mean essentially the visuals are just generic s♥♥t that the song could do with or without… or the visuals are good but the song sucks… or the song fits thematically and the visuals are good, but the song sucks.
Well most people have s♥♥t music taste. That’s why pop is pop.

Gosh, that Naruto ending is so full of feels and nostalgia.
But I would put From The New World ending here too, and Alumina from Death Note… Those 2 were great!
This is a pretty good list.
The MOB PSYCHO 100 ending animation reminds me a lot of the 2nd KIMAGURE ORANGE ROAD ending sequence, “Kanashii HEART wa Moeteiru Wa” (“My Sad Heart is Burning”), which is more or less my all-time favourite ED.

I know the MOB PSYCHO 100 ending was done on glass because I recently saw a video about it somewhere (might even have been here). I’ve always assumed the KIMAGURE ORANGE ROAD one was done on a chalkboard, but I suppose it could also have been glass since some of the effects are very similar.
