Melancholy has been rampantly spreading throughout the internet for esteemed singer Kouji Wada (famously known for Digimon‘s “Butterfly”), who has unfortunately passed away due to pharyngeal cancer, the depressing outcome of his exasperatingly long struggle against the affliction.
Kouji Wada’s struggle with the illness began around 2003 where the poor singer went on hiatus for two years, being forced to go on hiatus once again in 2011 despite being previously treated – with the memorable icon unfortunately succumbing to the relapse at the age of 42.

PSA: Ignore the trolls in these comments. You know how they take the chance at trolling whenever a post like this appears since 12 year olds think it is fun and edgy to make fun of people’s early deaths. Do not give them the satisfaction.
Oh, not the singer of one of the most awesome songs in anime history…
Why do the good ones always go away first and in the worst manners… Damn it all…
What also sucks is that the music composer for the first four Digimon series, Takanori Arisawa, passed away a decade before. Digimon had some fucking awesome tunes, so it’s sad to see two of the people majorly responsible for creating them have left us early.
Also, I wasn’t that big a fan of the English dub’s soundtrack, but I understand there’s a lot of people out there who were nostalgic for the dub. That said, apparently Paul Gordon, the composer for a bulk of the dub music, died just a couple months ago. The musicians for franchise are getting hit hard on both sides of the ocean, apparently.
He’s finally become that buttterfly. ;_;7
RIP 🙁
good night sweet prince
