Final Fantasy XV‘s newest trailer overflows with so many FPS staples – such as giant mechs and mounted guns – that critics are already dubbing it “Call of Final Fantasy” and decrying yet another apparent genre change.
The trailer, hailing from Square Enix’s “Active Time Report Vol. 7.0” live steam:
It has also been announced that Final Fantasy XV’s release date will be revealed on March 30th, though it is indeed certain that the title will make its way to players this year.
Looks a lot smoother and refined than the demo.
The interface and mechanics look neater and seem to flow better too.
They’ve really upped their game.
Not fully onboard with the sausage fest, but ah well, as long the gameplay and story itself is good, I can overlook it.
You’re grasping at straws there if you think this “might as well be an FPS”, it’s not even in first person!!! only a brief moment when Noctis hijacks the turret. And that’s just adding to the variety so you’re not constantly hacking and slashing. The stealth adds to that variety too. And what do you expect in that kind of situation? You think the characters should go into an army base swords swinging?? yeah that’s smart.
Come on man, the game looks promising. Get off the bandwagon and stop hating for the sake of hating.
Looks gorgeous and fun. Can’t wait to play.
Action RPG tripe — use the move the game expects you to at the time you’re supposed to and that’s it. It should have been a gaiden game.
FF games should be turn based like all actual JRPGs.
this actually looks a lot better than i expected. i might actually play a new FF game. FF X was the “latest” i played.
PS: whoever wrote the title and the text in the article was an retard.
