Aspiring manga artists itching to show off their talent may find the recently revealed Shonen Jump Plus x MediBang manga contest to be the perfect opportunity, as first and second place winners will have their hard work published in none other than the legendary Shonen Jump Plus.
The contest has even allowed international artists the chance to participate thanks to digital painting software distributor MediBang, whose staff will translate entries so that Shonen Jump Plus editors can properly evaluate them.
Aside from having their worthy manga published for all to see, the first place winner will also find themselves 1 million yen richer (and the 2nd place winner’s entry will also be published), with 2nd and 3rd place winners being gifted smaller cash prizes respectively.
While the prize money and opportunity to bathe in the limelight of Shonen Jump Plus may be highly sought after, unlucky losing entrants may possibly be graced with the holy advice of Shonen Jump Plus editors, perhaps making the whole ordeal worthwhile for some – win or lose.
Those seeking to enter have until March 17th (as indicated by their requirements page) to submit their entries.
As an Australian my story will be about ‘The Great Emu war’
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu_War
careful Japan, the son of gene simmons might try to rip off bleach again
The story I’ll submit will be about a high school football player in Alabama who is being scouted by the top academic universities and football universities in the nation. Our protagonist doesn’t want to go too far, as he is in love with his cornbread-feed sister, but his parents and friends expect him to either go west or east to receive the best education. He is torn, he knows his unrequited love must remain a secret since he is part of the popular kids in high school and must maintain character, no matter how badly he wants to take his sister back into the aging barn and confess his manure smelling love to her. Like him, his sister is popular too, as she is one of the multiple beauty queens in the county, and is known to be able to fit an entire corncob between her tender lips that reveal a beautiful and teeth-lacking smile.I’m going to see if this posts before I continue..
Nice try mate, a pity what you need isn’t just story writing but also drawing skill. Only continue your story if you or a friend can really draw decently.
And my advice: sport manga usually has a hint of romance but mostly focus on the actions. Your story’s flaw is that you even tried to incorporate incest which is a taboo. Unless you are writing for a Seinen (young adult) magazine. Shounen is for those below 17 year-old.
Not really, i mean just look at one punch man
worst art in the world but got insanely popular.
@03:52 One Punch Man’s anime is adapted from manga source, not the original web-comic which is done by amateurs.
You were right OPM is popular but I believe many readers took a liking to the manga version rather than the original. And this is a contest, not a hobby you can do at your own pace or disregard quality completely since there is a deadline until next year.
Serious answer for non-serious post. You dun goofed.
@03:50 To be honest, I’m pretty sick of reading posts that says shitty this crappy that everywhere on SanCom. Hence, I think this is a GREAT chance for the haters to showcase their prowess. I would like to see what they are capable of beside writing craps.
Whether that anon whom triple posted is serious or not, I’ll still give my two cents anyway.
Didn’t they have one of these contests a few years back already?
Finally going digital? It’s around 20 years late, but better late than never, I guess.
How many comic artists were working digitally in fucking 1995?
Not enough which is exactly my point.
