Sanrio‘s salmon-headed mascot “Kirimi-chan” has undergone a transformation of the most magical sort as the fishy manifestation takes on the likeness of a magical girl, bound to have people more bewildered than ever before – and likely serving as a minor marketing coup for the notoriously shrewd Sanrio.

Sanrio have revealed that they have much in store for Kirimi-chan and her other meat-inspired colleagues, including smart phone games, animations, merchandise and even a collaboration with Monster Hunter, with the meaty magical girl promotion to kick off in the coming fall season.

Just think about this for a sec, some fish got gutted and turned into Sushi. That Sushi then became sentient and then one day turned into a Magical girl.

It's almost like the next sequel to Terminator or something.
