Gaming rag Famitsu has unveiled that a brand new RPG Maker game, “RPG Maker MV”, is in the works for the PC, bound to offer a multitude of new tools and conveniences to help aspiring developers create the games they truly desire – while likely delivering an even higher learning curve than ever before.
Some new features include:
Side-view battles are now default
Support for multiple devices
Mouse and touch input now supported
A big increase to the limit of items in the database
Maps automatically constructed in 3 layers
Games can now be run in high-resolution
An English release is not completely impossible, considering RPG Maker 2003 was translated and subsequently released on Steam not too long ago – though no set launch date has been announced for RPG Maker MV as of yet.
They should call it “Classic RPG Maker”.
I’ll stick with Unity, thanks
“Just How Many Do We Need?”
no more but they need the money
>still not isometric rpg maker
You can script it in yourself. If you are making a game with RPG Maker (or any engine) and you don’t know how to script, you may as well not even bother.
Nice to see RPG Maker is still around. I hope to see it on Linux someday, or that the new EasyRPG becomes as good as it.
