She's based on the most famous Japanese warship of all time and yet she doesn't even really crack the top ten of popularity for ship girls...

Because she's a Yamato Nadeshiko-type character in-game, which means she is easily overshadowed by the bunny-girl underdressed sprinter Shimakaze, the obviously chuuni Tenryuu and Kiso, the 4th division kindergardeners...I mean Destroyers and the very boisterous British returnee Kongou and others.

actually as the USS Iowa showed when suffering an accidental powder detonation back in 1991, WWII battleships are FAR more durable and resistant to damage than modern warships, which don't have foot-thick steel plate armour. Your limp Chinese missile would be lucky to even scratch the paint.

A US Navy study estimated it would take 20-25 Harpoon missile strikes to put a battleship out of combat action, and even then the ship would still be repairable.

They don't build ships the way they used to.

What a waste of a ship. Glad we sent you down to the bottom in operation heaven one. You never should of never left drydock a little after pearl harbor. I hope we see these ships catching on fire and parts of them blown off in the anime.
