The 6th outing of bodily fluids exchange anime Mysterious Girlfriend X has inspired even harder enthusiasm from fans than the saucy beach episode – and all thanks to extreme cuteness rather than bizarre fetishes and busty maidens (it must be a coincidence that both these also appear in abundance).
Well, the author did state in an interview that he wrote MGX because kids nowadays are entering sexual relationships too early, and he wanted to remind his readers of how much fun a not-yet-sexual relationship can be.
Thats a negative for me. The progress of their relationship is god-awfully slow. I've seen more development with a Kallmann syndrome patient than with this show. The manga is just as slow and the only reason anyone should put up with so much lack of development is either they are a chaste christian or some idiot. I'm guessing Akira is the later.
Tease and all that shit is only good if the characters still aren't in a relationship. Take for example Kimi no Iru Machi, the main characters are college students, they live together in the same house but so far they only kissed ONE time
That's kind of a silly reduction. You think there's literally no ground in between going straight to sex or (spoiler... 3... 2... 1...) dragging on for over 2 years of school without admitting they're in a relationship, hugging or holding hands? They're like business associates - not even business partners, just acquaintances who get upset if the other actually looks at someone else.
It's a tease. It's meant to build and sustain interest, have lots of episodes, and make tons of money. 'Nana to Kaoru' is on the 73rd chapter and Kaoru still hasn't touched Nana's naked body. Somewhere around chapter 500 he will finally suck on her nipples and finger her snatch.
Your ideal version of THIS story would be over too quickly:
Yo Mikoto, I'm Akira.
Nice to meet you.
Wanna be my girlfriend?
Sure. Here, suck my spit.
It's sweet, let's fuck!
OK. [they fuck].
That was nice Mikoto.
Yeah, for me too. We can do it again sometime.
[end of story - no more episodes]
I think it's a cute series, but perspectives change as you move on. I appreciate that it's fiction, but sometimes when I read it I still think "this guy is wasting his youth going nowhere. He's in an exclusive relationship with a girl who barely seems to like him."
Deth, my friend, if you like the anime, you should pick up the manga :)
Although I very much enjoy watching the relationship between Urabe and whats-his-face grow, I'm a far bigger Oka fan. If Oka figures ever come out my poor wallet is going to be drained of all its vital fluids.
When I first heard about this anime I was disgusted about the spit licking. But after seeing how overwhelmingly cute and huggable the main girl is I'm fine with it. I guess I should give this anime a try after all.
@Anon 20:18: Oh come on, she doesn't look like that kind of psycho.
In my opinion people who think this looks weird should watch more 70s and 80s anime to build more tolerance to a wider range of art styles. Anime doesn't just look awesome or crappy, but can look more or less interesting and appealing in tons of different ways.
@01:08: Well, she does to me. I'm an avid fan of old school anime, and I don't get that creepy vibe with old series.
The first thing that popped in my mind when I saw her wasn't ‘old school’. It was ‘yandere’.
Of course, if you follow the story she turns out to be okay (mostly). But she emphatically does not look cute.
Ichika is the great-granddaughter of Mizaho Kazami. (from 'Please! Teacher)
Her voice was heard in episode 11, (at Lake Kizaki) before Ichika was taken back to her home planet.
Mizuho Kazami was born in 2010, one year after her mother met her father who was an astronaut she rescued when his space craft was presumed to be lost.
Mizuho comes to Earth when she is 24 years old.(according to the anime) So when she met Kei Kusanagi, it would be the year 2034.
Suppose they have a daughter a few years later (2036) Kei and Mizuho's daughter would be Ichika's grandmother.
25 years pass and their daughter meets a man and gets married and has a daughter of their own. (that would be 2061) She would be Ichika's mom.
She gets married at 25 years of age, has 3 daughters and Ichika is the middle child. (Ichika mentions that she has 2 sisters)
So Ichika is born in 2091.
So Ichika comes to Earth...let's say in 2108 and meets Kai. (her age is revealed to be 17 at that time)
So the answer would be 2108 the camera would be used in "Ano Natsu de Matteru."
Why not? Contrary to popular belief the pictures don't look like crappy filtered low-res instagram jpegs on the net. In fact it's a medium format camera, so it captures a shitload of details. I have some 20 years old Polaroid pictures and they still have perfect contrast and colors. I had some digital prints made that looked worse on day one. Oh, and they are free of CCD noise and rolling shutter distortion, but that's a difficult argument to win in an age where everyone who uses something that's not a smartphone to take pictures, is immediately labeled a "hipster".
Um, I don't think it was a technical critique of Polaroid film... more that you don't really find film cameras or film anymore so either this anime takes place in the past (going on the camera) or this guy is some kind of camera otaku with connections to get film.
I'd honestly dump her after this much lack of progress if IRL.
I mean even calling Akira-kun is a no-no, good luck trying to even get to 1st base.
Anon 15:03 - this is not "IRL", it's an anime.
And (disgusting/bizarre fetishes aside), isn't it rather charming to see a guy develop a 'different' sort of relationship with a girl (for a change)?
Well, the author did state in an interview that he wrote MGX because kids nowadays are entering sexual relationships too early, and he wanted to remind his readers of how much fun a not-yet-sexual relationship can be.
Yeah, funny as hell with this saliva suckin stuff and shit

Except that in Nana to Kaouru they aren't dating.
Tease and all that shit is only good if the characters still aren't in a relationship. Take for example Kimi no Iru Machi, the main characters are college students, they live together in the same house but so far they only kissed ONE time

Some people think a relationship can actually work like that. Never met one who managed though - in real life it's called the friend zone.
Have to agree with Imyou here. I love the show and the manga, it's a nice fantasy and very different from what we see most of the time.
But it would NEVER work out IRL.
No one can be that good a person.
No way! The slow character development creates a greater impact on the climax of the story. Obviously, something that we might not expect.
Mmmm...
These two... round... things... looks delicious.
yes, I also love ice cream
- it is - "GODLY"
I'm just waiting for whoever is going to make the Urabe Mikoto figure... because that's definitely going to be a buy!
Deth, my friend, if you like the anime, you should pick up the manga :)

Damn Utake has some fucking delicious looking tits
Who is "Utake"?
Wow, whole lotta whiny little pissant virgin shits in this thread. So what's wrong with how they look and swapping spit?
Its really not much different than a french kiss, just this doesn't have lip contact involved.
When I first heard about this anime I was disgusted about the spit licking. But after seeing how overwhelmingly cute and huggable the main girl is I'm fine with it. I guess I should give this anime a try after all.
>overwhelmingly cute and huggable
WTF? She looks like she could go postal any second.

People like condemning things without actually having seen them.
What on earth is going on in that last gif?!
He's fapping to her ear wax
He's fapping WITH her ear wax...
I take it to mean that Urabe is at least as cute as the Amagami girls.
Pfft, her deepness makes that entire show look like a singly drop of water. (Excluding Nanasaka, she's good.)
No, she isn't. Even Rihoko is better than this girl.
Freaking awesome episode per usual, i love it
Really? A Polaroid? What, is this series set in 1986?
Well, that would explain why so many of the girls seem to have Hikaru Hiyama hair...
I don't believe it's ever concretely said what time frame the anime takes place in, but yeah, 1980s sounds about right.
Anime these days is crap I tell ya!
Nope, they're better than ever.
90% of today's anime is porn without sex
I prefer watch Bleach than this.
Img 054 remembers one scene of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Are you sure the girl with the glasses is a chick?
I thought it was the MC in drag
Yes, it's him. He just cut his legs off at the knees.
that make perfect sense
This anime is about spitting in other's people mouths, end of story
mmmm the animation of this episode was bad.
some movements were very jerky
sometimes faces were not drawn well
too bad.
Don't know what last pic represents but it is hilarious.
This anime looks disgusting.
HOW CAN SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT THIS ANIME SUCKS? YOU DONT NEED TO HAVE A BIZARRE FETISH TO ENJOY THIS...
WTF? A Polaroid? What, is this anime set in 1986?
They used them in Ano Natsu de Matteru as well, though who knows when that series is set.
According to my hypothesis:
