Bioware’s blockbuster Mass Effect is to receive an anime movie adaptation, to be produced by Funimation and T.O. Entertainment, the creators of such memorable SF classics as Freezing and Baka to Test.
The anime itself is due worldwide in 2012 (including in Japan, where the latest game sold all of 9,000 copies), for digital and disc distribution.
The involvement of T.O. Entertainment in particular has perplexed many, although it is at least a step up from the involvement of Hollywood…
will see 😀
Isn’t during 80’s or early 90’s there’s an (unrelated) anime called Asari-chan?
There’s also an in-name-only “adaptation” (emphasize IN-NAME-ONLY) called Dog Days.
the vidya gems involve square enix.
Are they doing this because they want to pull in Japanese fans?
First thing they should do is scrap the TPS system and replace it with something traditional or unique. One of the reasons why this game was snubbed in Japan is because the game play boils down to mindless shooting action, even on the hardest difficulty. We had enough casual friendly FPS and TPS games with “RPG” elements.
P.S. The story, theme, and characters in this game are fucking s♥♥t. It’s basically an interactive Battle Star Gallactica, except with 200% more alien intercourse.
This can only end badly.
