Two men have been arrested after apparently being lured to a hotel by a 12-year-old schoolgirl offering a late-night threesome in return for cash.
The incident began with a 6th year Kumamoto prefecture elementary school girl (aged 11 or 12) posting on a mobile phone dating website, stating that she was “looking for someone to take me back home.”
She soon found not one but two men evidently eager to do just that – a 32-year-old unemployed man and a 26-year-old restaurant employee, whom she arranged to meet at the car-park of a local shopping centre.
By 3AM the trio had retired to a local hotel, where the men are accused of engaging in indecent acts with the girl.
One of the suspects admits the charges, whilst the other admits visiting the hotel with the girl but denies participating in any indecent acts.
The incident came to light after the girl and her family later approached police, providing them with one of the men’s email addresses and identifying his face. Both were charged with engaging in indecent acts with a minor.
Police are silent as to what a 12-year-old girl was doing making contact with men on an adult dating site in the middle of the night.
frankly, the girl offers herself on an adult site, how the hell would guys know if she’s underage or not? this seems more her fault than the guys. What to do if jail is for men?
Well, girl tricks two guys and guys land in jail. What load a bull.
I’m impressed at two things in this thread – the general level of ignorance (which is staggering, but frighteningly normal in North America), and the exceptional intelligence of a few (very few) select rebuttals.
There was an earlier comment making an analogy between the North American (unspoken, but implied) disgust with “pedophilia” (which is mistakenly construed as “under the legal age limit”) and “homosexuality.”
This is an analogy that works well as it’s directed very solidly at the uneducated ignorance of every-day society.
The USA and Canada have “statutory” law that ranges from 16 to 18. Canada, up until recently (a decade or so ago) used to be 14. Only about HALF of the USA is 18, much of it is 16 or 17. The laws also state that it’s only a problem when the ‘adult’ in the situation is in a position of power/authority (if the younger person is below the “porn” age (18) but over the statutory age). In some states and provinces, the law has an additional modifier of “4 years age difference” which means, it’s okay for a 16 year old (lowest minimum in North America at present) to have sex with someone at 20, but not 21. Upon reaching the age of 18, they can then (should they desire) participate in graphic and explicit sexuality.
Mexico has the lowest age of consent on the planet, at the age of 13. (This is not universal, however). Although, some countries such as Nepal still marry their daughters off at the tender age of 8 (yes, EIGHT) which shows it’s largely a cultural bias (most especially in North America which has the highest broad-spanning age requirements for engagement in sexual acts, but not the highest in the world which is 20 years of age (possibly 21, but I believe it’s 20). In Japan, the statutory age is 14. So that young lady wasn’t far off anyway. Had she been 2 years (or a year and a half) older, nothing would have happened.
I fully understand the fuming anger of a few of the responses here, most certainly from the person who (says) they work in the prison system with rapists, and molesters (which they mistakenly lump in with people with an “abnormal attraction to pre-pubescent children” – p♥♥o (child) philia (abnormal/strong attraction)).
Let me throw another example into the mix – in the USA you can be sent to prison for 2 years for having a joint (pot) on you. In Canada, if you don’t have a friend who smokes pot, you’re a rare person (or oblivious). In the North America there used to be prohibition (for alcohol) where a person would go to prison for DRINKING (at all). Can you imagine being thrown in jail for drinking alcohol? Hrm. Probably not – as it’s now culturally acceptable.
The point is – on one side of the coin, we are arguing against cultural imperatives that are rivaled only by the ignorance that is directed at “race” (which in itself is a misnomer since genetically speaking there are only 3 ‘races’ in the world, and MOST of the planet is of 1 of them) and homosexuality, and the ignorance of fanatic religious groups (whatever the denomination). On the other hand, we are arguing that we know what all young people are thinking – when in fact very few of us can recall how we felt (accurately) two days ago, other than vague responses like “I was angry” or “I was happy” – never mind 10, 15, 40 years ago. Where I grew up, it was -normal- for girls to start having sex at 13-16, and boys from 15-17. My grandmother met my grandfather at 14 during WW1, and married him just 2 years later. He was 12 years her elder. I guess I should then go spit and curse on my grandfather’s grave for being a “pedophile” – ah, right, can’t. It was “acceptable” at the time.
Thus, one has to remind themselves to observe more than their cultural imperatives and realize that the lines they draw are their own.
On that, however, the law is the law, and it was put into place around the world in it’s myriad of forms after considerable thought (in most cases). Thus – if one breaks the law, one should face it and accept the punishment. Period. Even if we disagree with it for whatever reason. These two men should have turned the girl down (it doesn’t say that she TOLD them she was 12, she could easily have lied to them, and that fact could conveniently have been omitted – if she’d said she was 14, then the age would have been legal) – however, the mistake was made on the part of the men. They crossed the line, AND they broke the law. Thus they are facing the punishment for having done so. If they’d wanted a younger lady, then should have looked for one who was considered legal, and gone with that. It’s one thing to look, it’s another entirely to touch.
And – to be clear – NON-consensual sexual contact is r♥♥e. That’s an ENTIRELY different ball of wax. I also do not condone the actions of the two men. This is simply my own opinion. However – they are not evil people, nor should they face vicious assault for having had consensual sex with a minor. Jail-time is certainly enough, they will be unlikely to repeat offend after that embarrassment (most especially in the Japanese culture). To wish or consider such violence against people makes the person doing the considering one step shy of being a ‘premeditated murderer.’ And if they work in the justice system, that makes them VERY dangerous people who should perhaps reside IN the prisons they’re supposed to be guarding.
Wow… well said. good to know some people are educated
