Bandai Namco have announced a new fantasy themed action game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, “Knights Contract,” and the title was instantly likened to Bayonetta, both for style of action and the presence of saucy sorceress.
Less flatteringly, the usual contrived macho character design seems to have crept in again.
Whatever the quality of the final game, at this stage it certainly appears to have failed in the originality department – a generic Xbox hulk and a Bayonetta clone combine in a staid dark fantasy setting looking rather similar to a dozen other recent titles.
Bandai has even gone so far as to emulate the awkward Japanese English naming of Demon’s Souls…
Seriously… Everyone is bitching about who stereotyped who and what dev’s think. i think you all forgot one thing. if they keep making a certain game or character type over and over and over again, its because… IT FUCKING SELLS!!! Oh my god! don’t like it, don’t buy it! But no, they know the gimmicks, they know what people (mostly male) will but. A lil boob here, some cool guns there, etc. An lets not for get people they make these games for a select group of people (whatever sells in a particular demographic). Just try to think, when was the last time you played a really fun game that didn’t rely on some gimmick. Like one special game play feature (bullet time) or sex (bouncing boobs, see-through clothing) or HD Graphics. Sigh… Remember when games were just fun…
is it just my feeling that the big guy looked like ( not resemble but the nuance, the feel ) beyond the grave and the girl looked like mika asagiri. . . hmmm
*play gungrave again
NOTHING like Bayonetta. Nothing. Don’t even think about insulting Bayonetta. This game looks undesirable already.
Bayonetta + Dantes Inferno?
Reminds me of Haseo.
