Unusually, eroge illustrator Ayane Nanami has appeared in an eroge rag, and eroge fans have wasted no time in pointing out that she in fact appears to be highly attractive.
Whilst she might be easy on the eyes, critics are not saying the same about her art – below is an unrepresentatively good selection:
To paraphrase 2ch’s unkind words: “Her rubbish art won’t sell, so she uses her face instead… Great.”
I know this probably doesn’t mean anything here, but I actually kind of like her work. Sure, it is not the best, but it also is better than anything that I could actually do.
I dunno, I kinda like her cute style, I don’t really see the problem people have with her art, i’ve seen much worse.
This reminds of how the weeaboos were insulting the American art version of Nier.
There is nothing wrong with the art (heck, it was actually accurate) but the weeaboos still raged about it just because it wasn’t Japanese.
Looks fine to me. I mean, it’s not really much different from most other eroge artwork. Something tells me they’d like it (or, rather, not hate it) if the artist remained gender-anonymous…
To be honest, I really don’t like her art, it’s too generic and it lacks any sort of personal trace or originality the way I see it.
But that’s just my opinion.
