The ongoing Tokyo International Anime Fair 2010 began on Thursday, and as expected there is a generous amount of promotion of new anime series and movies due out later this year at the event.
Generous otaku armed with video cameras have done an excellent job of recording a plethora of trailers being shown in the Big Sight’s halls this weekend, viewable below:
Note that a few of these are actually taken from official websites, uploaded to coincide with the new trailers appearing at TAF, and a few others have the sketchy quality to be expected of a random convention-goer holding up a camera at a TV monitor.
Also, many big-name series due during the next month are missing below, an unfortunate byproduct of the unorganized uploading of videos online by the general public. Note also that angry rightsholders may decide free promotion of their products is too much to bear and remove any of these without warning.
オオカミさんと七人の仲間たち / Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi
This title, which translates to “Ookami-san and (her) seven friends”, is due for a Summer release. Ecchi-friendly station AT-X will be one of the stations airing the show, which should let us get a good look at whatever amount of uncensored service the show provides.
Make sure to look for the Taiga lookalike Ookami (introduced as a “New Age Tsundere” in the trailer!), plus the Araragi doppelganger.
ガンダム00 -Awakening of the Trailblazer-
This movie probably needs little introduction; this one is the Gundam 00 movie announced at the end of the second series last year.
The “final fight of the Meisters” (according to the trailer) will come to theatres sometime in September.
百花繚乱 サムライガールズ / Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls
Hyakka Ryouran is an interesting series, being a “multimedia project” involving otaku shop Hobby Japan, figure maker Alter, and illustrator Niθ.
Given HJ and Alter’s involvement, there’s little doubt we can hopefully expect excellent quality from the show’s already announced PVC figure lineup.
ゼーガペイン / Zegapain
This one should confuse some folk – Zegapain, a 2007 mecha series from Sunrise, will be getting a new digital rebroadcast starting next month.
祝福のカンパネラ / Shukufuku no Campanella
レッドライン / Redline
Redline, a racing oriented film from Studio Madhouse that has some impressively animated trailers floating around for some time now, is nearing its 2010 release date.
四畳半神話大系 / Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei
マルドゥック・スクランブル / Mardock Scramble
みつどもえ / Mitsudomoe
ルーガルー / Loups Garous
Loups Garous (French for ‘Werewolves’) is another movie due out this year, and appears to be based around a rather odd story involving virtual reality and werewolves.
Be warned that its name is rather confusingly spelled, so you’re likely to find several various spellings of it online.
ジュエルペット てぃんくる☆ / Jewelpet Twinkle☆
The second season of mahou shoujo series, Jewelpet.
Ruby is awfully cute…
黒執事Ⅱ / Kuroshitsuji II
The second season of demon butler, as announced previously.
バサラ2期 / Sengoku Basara 2nd Season
The upcoming 2nd season of hack-and-slash action series, Sengoku Basara, coming in July.
薄桜鬼 / Hakuouki
The anime adaptation of Hakuouki, a PSP feudal-era adventure game, is just around the corner with a broadcast date of April 3rd on most TV stations airing it.
This one is especially popular amongst fujoushi, owing to the numerous bishounen heroes present.
屍鬼 / Shiki
Another summer TV show, Shiki is the adaptation of horror-mystery manga.
さらい屋五葉 / Saraiya Gorou
Saraiya Gorou is another new TV series due next month, and is a sort of semi-realistic samurai show from Manglobe, the same studio responsible for Samurai Champloo.
Evangelion 2.22
This last video is a promotional trailer for the DVD / BD release of the Evangelion 2.0 due out in May.
Frustratingly, not much is shown as it’s really more of a teaser, but is still fun enough to take a look at.
LOL.
ALL of the vids have been removed but one…
