The chance to hone their bodies in the company of bra-less 2D fitness freak Hinako has proven too much for otaku, and countless thousands have taken up the gauntlet; in fact the DVD reached number one on Amazon’s rankings.
Seeing the anime itself rather reveals why; below you see an otaku working out, although your eyes may well be drawn to the fluid motion of the charmingly athletic Hinako…
Truly a marketing coup?
Additionally, Hinako has inspired a variety of suitably erotic artwork on Pixiv, which you can see illustrating this article:
The campaign isn’t bad but it isn’t great either. As much as this is geared towards males. If for some reason a female is into these things ends up watching this and knows nothing about working out (including the knowledge the necessity of a sports bra), there is a chance (and that doesn’t mean definitely) they’ll think ‘hey I can do this on the spot’ as if they don’t need a sports bra.
The idea is just fine for people who are into this. I just thought they could of added some sort of what not to do and what you should do. For example she can give a VERY brief explaination for what not to do for a push-up by just lowering your body barely bending your elbow.
Even normal people that isn’t into anime can exercise incorrectly without proper explanation to the point where it doesn’t benefit them at all.
I’m all for this campaign though with minor addition to it.
