Actress and idol 吉野公佳 / Kimika Yoshino (32), known for a long string of drama and film appearances, including the drama adaptation of Jigoku Shoujo, has shocked the show business establishment with the news that she has accepted a 25 million yen contract to star in an AV film, to be titled “Impact”, and published by “Muteki”.
The contract is said to cover a number of titles, but the 25 million only covers the first title, so she could be set for millions of dollars…
The first of the titles, Impact, will be released in October. The producers seem confident of recouping their outlay on buying the star, hoping as they are for sales of the initial title to be as high as 100,000. Muteki themselves seem to be a label specifically set up for the purpose of publishing these crossover porn stars, as they already have a similar title with a showbiz star completed, as well as more to come.
Complicated promotional strategies and deft dealings with stars seem to characterise the label; apparently they are also supposed to strictly protect the anonymity of their “actresses” until production is finished, as there are cases where they may pull out, which they could hardly do with their reputation in tatters…
It seems Kimika Yoshino herself has long straddled the line between the two worlds, having starred in a variety of gravure and “image video” productions, though apparently only in 2007 did she undertake her first “hair nude” shoot (the meaning of which I leave to you to work out).

Nobody could accuse her of being unattractive, but is she a ¥25,000,000 or more belle? It seems her name is definitely the driving force in the deal. Perhaps she also sought to cash in her looks before they became unsellable due to “age” (not that any reasonable person would consider a lady of that age past it, but show business is not known for reasonableness in these matters).
