It has been announced that Kyoto Animation is working on what appears to be the third season of musical anime Hibike! Euphonium.
In spite of losing a large percentage of their employees, Kyoto Animation are apparently resuming their previously announced project aimed at covering Kumiko‘s third year in high school. The news came from a Hibike! Euphonium band concert.
The production team apologized for not giving further updates about the project’s status.
Work on Hibike! Euphonium projects may have been delayed by the tragic deaths of character designer Shoko Ikeda and musical instrument animation director Hiroyuki Takahashi as a result of the arson attack in July.

Jesus christ, no one would blame them for not being forthcoming with info. Their main studio was burned to the ground and dozens of their co workers were murdered.
Take your time with Season 3 and release when ready.
It’s ultimately still a competitive industry, so no, they can’t just shut down if they want to keep their heads above most studios, ergo the apology was in place, and much needed.
Looking forward to see yurifags assblasted once more.
Did we ever find out if the anime follows the shitty book plot or did all the yuri teasing actually go somewhere?
My hope is that they go full lesbian this time
No way. KyoAni can go two ways: vanilla romance, or if it’s homo, it has to be between guys, since that’s their fetish.
They don’t care about male otaku (who they think are creepy, not to mention lolicons), so they will never cater to them.
Pretty sure the 2nd season ended with her ending up with that dude she seemed to hate for the whole first season and most of the second but then suddenly “romance!”.
@17:03 Did you even watch the show? That wasn’t what happened at all. Kumika hooked up with Asuka.
